Inch Spring Washer Flat & Square Section Reference
For inch spring washers, the calculator distinguishes flat-section and square-section types. The dimensions below are BSS 1802 reference section sizes; actual piece weight can vary with the applicable spring-washer standard and manufacturing tolerance.
| Inch Size | Equivalent mm | Flat Section W × T (mm) | Square Section W/T (mm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1/4" | 6.35 | 2.3 × 1.6 | 1.8 |
| 3/8" | 9.53 | 3.7 × 1.6 | 2.3 |
| 1/2" | 12.70 | 4.1 × 2.3 | 3.0 |
| 5/8" | 15.88 | 4.9 × 3.3 | 3.7 |
| 3/4" | 19.05 | 5.9 × 3.3 | 4.5 |
| 7/8" | 22.23 | 6.4 × 3.3 | 5.4 |
| 1" | 25.40 | 7.1 × 4.7 | 5.9 |
Flat Section vs Square Section Spring Washer
The two spring-washer sections have different cross-sections and therefore different weights. Select the correct type when calculating a complete bolt or stud set.
Washer Weight in Bolt Sets
For sets with two or more washers, the calculator multiplies the selected washer weight by the number of washers per set and then by the order quantity.
Reference weights are approximate and may vary by manufacturing standard, tolerance, coating, material and supplier.
